The spirit of Mumbai and the kindness all around ! We invariably see everyone proud of the spirit of Mumbai, in natural calamities and the way people are always ready to help when any flood, fire, bomb blasts or natural calamity strikes ! They take it upon themselves to help in any way they can. Throughout any crisis, the true spirit of Mumbai comes alive as everyone comes together to save the city and offer help to those stranded or in trouble. But the general kindness of Mumbai is visible in our day-to-day interactions with our people in Mumbai. I have listed a few of them below :       In trains, when a seat falls vacant, people do rush to catch it, but I have experienced people stepping back, waving and smiling at me and telling me to sit down. The Little Kitten Late last night, I heard a tiny 'meow, meow' outside my door. I put on the outside light and opened the door to find a little black kitten on the steps staring steadfastly and unblinkingly into my eyes. Beautiful light eyes, a little nervous, a little scared.... I wondered how it had come up three floors. I approached it softly calling it to me, but it raced up the steps further to the fourth floor. Every time I moved towards it, it jumped a step upwards with its tiny legs.  I put a few pieces of soft bread in front of it, but it ran further up away from it. I left it alone with the hope that it will eat the bread when it is alone. Around 1 am, it started meowing loudly, the little thing was scared due to its loneliness, I guess.
